The Zone, Vol 23: Staying the Course

As the storm slowly dies down, we begin to pick up the pieces and move forward. Finding balance between over-bearing caution and ignorance is important. The pandemic still presents us with challenges in our daily lives. How do we face them?

In Volume 23 of this guest series, Psychotherapist, Dr. Francis L. Battisti and Nutritionist, Dr. Helen Battisti remind us to remain vigilant as we continue navigating the pandemic, while appreciating the goodness of the weather and things returning to some level of normalcy.

For over 10 years, they have worked closely with us on aging concerns and have presented many webinars and in-person workshops. Their newsletter, The Zone, is a weekly mental health and nutrition tip sheet during times of change.

As many of the restrictions that were imposed in March continue to be relaxed and assessed, we can almost get the sense that we are in the eye of the storm.  An uneasy quiet that can change at any moment.  The remainder of 2020 and into 2021, holds the potential to become increasingly unpredictable.  In a sense, being in the eye of the storm allows time to think about the upcoming months and how we plan to spend them.  As we have experienced, planning does not always guarantee a desired result. However, it forces us to commit to a path and process that will assist us during difficult times.As with the eye of the storm’s impact on the severity of the overall storm, it’s also true that how we think, act and plan now, will have a major impact on our overall experience during these difficult times.  During this lull we need to keep our due diligence and continue to take care of ourselves, physically, spiritually, and mentally.  With all the activities and holiday that will occur during the next few months, it is important to be persistent, in the presence of possible fatigue.
