The Zone Weekly with paraDocs

The task of taking a personal inventory can be challenging, but the results can prove to be invaluable.

In Volume 19 of this guest series, Psychotherapist, Dr. Francis L. Battisti and Nutritionist, Dr. Helen Battisti encourage us to identify areas where we have grown over the past six months, as well as areas of opportunity for growth, in an effort to prepare for the future.

For over 10 years, they have worked closely with us on aging concerns and have presented many webinars and in-person workshops. Their newsletter, The Zone, is a weekly mental health and nutrition tip sheet during times of change.

As the state of the un-normal continues, it becomes clearer that each of us needs to focus on what we personally can do to meet our needs over the next few months. Tapping into the new knowledge of our strengths, along with the new insights we have gained from the past six months, can assist us with our preparations for the future.

Developing inner strengths and outer resources are two areas to possibly examine as part of our preparation in moving forward. The review could include: assessing your strengths, increasing enthusiasm for living, strengthening relationships that have demonstrated a sense of shared commitment, assessing healthy coping mechanisms (especially newly recognized ones), and continuing to build self-regulation skills.

The purpose of focusing on what is needed for each of us, over the next few months, is to enhance our ability to “breathe-easier.” Metaphorically and literally, this offers one a higher possibility for a more enhancing (mind-body-spirit) state of living.
