Education for Religious Communities
We understand the challenges of caring for the aging needs of Religious Communities.
Education for You and Your Community
Co-sponsored with National Religious Retirement Office (NRRO) since 2011, we offer webinars that address the needs of the aging within Religious Communities.
We offer a multitude of topics within our online learning center including dementia, palliative care, spiritual care, leadership, and more.
Our program, recognized by Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), is great for training direct care staff on dementia. Now being offered virtually.
Need help with a specific topic or challenge? We can customize a training based on your community and staff's needs. Now being offered virtually.
No time to create an in-service? We have ready-to-teach kits with all the pieces you need for a successful in-service for direct care staff.
In-Service Self-Studies (Coming Soon)
Can’t get all your staff together for an in-service? All our kit topics are also available as self-studies for staff to log in and complete on their own.
Implementation Programs
Take working with Community members with dementia to the next level with this program. We will help you avoid negative behaviors before they happen!
Other Learning Opportunities
Annual Long-Term Care Conference
We hold an annual long-term care conference. A chance for long-term care staff to learn and stay current on long-term care topics and trends, it features expert presenters on palliative care, dementia care, regulations, and more. Every year, sessions offer pertinent information to current challenges. More information about our 2021 Long-Term Care Conference coming soon!
Geriatric Spiritual Care Certificate Program
For personal education or for staff, the Geriatric Spiritual Care program is for anyone seeking to enhance their role in pastoral care. Offered as an in-person program one weekend per month and for a week of clinical hands-on experience, this program focuses on an intimate group setting and learning environment. It is only offered once a year. A certificate is issued to graduates of the program.
Care Assessment
We are pleased to offer you a Care Transitions Assessment Tool. This 54-page tool was developed by the Avila Institute of Gerontology to help Religious Communities of all sizes to identify current and future issues related to care and transition. Knowing that each Community will have their own unique set of goals and challenges during transition, we organized the material in sections to be used when needed for specific situations.
