We’re excited to announce that a new on-demand webinar is now available in the AIG Learning Center for long-term care administrators seeking to deepen their approach to person-centered dementia care.

This session explores the vital role spirituality and faith can play in supporting residents’ well-being, offering insight into why spiritual support matters and how meaningful faith engagement can enhance quality of life. Participants will also gain practical strategies for thoughtfully integrating spiritual practices into individualized care planning. Presented through a leadership lens, the webinar highlights how administrators can foster inclusive, respectful environments that honor diverse beliefs while supporting residents, families, and care teams alike. This session is taught by AIG Faculty members Kathryne Fassbender, Clare Horn, and Alf Norwood.

CEUs: 1.25 CEU available for Nursing Home Administrators and New York Social Workers


Learning Objectives

By the end of this session, participants will be able to:

  • Identify the role that spiritual practices play in a resident’s well-being and how supporting them enhances holistic, person-centered care.
  • Explain how cognitive decline can impact a person’s ability to connect with their spirituality and engage in meaningful spiritual or religious practices.
  • Integrate individualized spiritual or faith practices into the care of residents living with dementia.


Continuing Education Information

  • Administrators (NAB): This program has been approved for Continuing Education for 1.25 total participant hours by NAB/NCERS—Approval #20270101-1.25-A118254-DL.
  • New York State Social Workers: Avila Institute of Gerontology, Inc. is recognized by the New York State Education Department’s State Board for Social Work as an approved provider of continuing education for licensed social workers #SW-0265. Participants can earn 1.25 Contact Hours. Social Worker CE approval is for New York State Social workers only. Other state licensees are not eligible to receive pre-approved credit.
