Kathleen McGowan is a social worker with extensive experience in Child Welfare and Administration. She worked for Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Chicago in various positions and then as Executive Director of Catholic Charities, Diocese of Joliet. In that role, she was responsible for keeping the mission, vision and values of the organization uppermost in the minds and hearts of the Board and staff. She has extensive experience in the field of Child Protective Services and Administration. She has taught in the Graduate School of Social Work at Loyola University, Chicago. Kathleen has also been a presenter of workshops and seminars in the field of Child Welfare, Supervision and Administration. She has worked with community groups, religious communities and other non-profits providing consultation and guidance in programming, strategic planning and facilitation of meetings/conferences. Presently, she conducts workshops on mission and ministry, value-based practice, leadership and emotional intelligence. In retirement, Kathleen serves on a variety of non-profit Boards, including long-term-care, higher education, and a county public housing board. She holds a Bachelor’s degree from Loyola University, Chicago, IL and a Master’s degree in Social Work from the University of Illinois, Chicago Circle campus.
